Over the last 30 years, Geist Nursery has grown to include a Boutique Garden Center located in Fishers, Indiana, and serving the Indianapolis area. We carry locally grown Annuals, Perennials, Shrubs, Trees, Mulch, Pottery, Organic Garden Care, and much more! We encourage you to browse our website and visit our Garden Center this season.
We are proud to be family owned and operated since 1977. Fred Richwine, owner, is a Landscape Designer and Land Use Consultant with degrees from Purdue University and the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He has been working as a Landscape Designer in Indianapolis, Indiana for over 40 years, and has been an integral part of numerous Land Use projects in New York, Massachusetts, and Indiana. Fred also has experience with Design/Build. While living in New York and Massachusetts he headed an Architectural Restoration business. This experience has provided the design and craftsmanship skills necessary for offering custom deck, patio, screened porch, and home addition services.
Whitney Klein, the Garden Center manager, is Fred’s daughter and a graduate of Indiana University. After graduating in 2003 she moved back to Indianapolis to help with the family business. She mixes her love of gardening and art to help customers choose the best plants for their landscape. Annual gardening is her favorite, especially mixing edibles and flowers! Levi, her 8 yr old son, is generation #3 and loves Bobcats (the mulch loaders) and helping customers!
Geist Nursery is proud to host Native Plants Unlimited every May. Karin and her crew take over a section of the garden center and fill it with a wide variety of plants that are native to Indiana and the Midwest. Flowers, grasses, pollinators, and MORE! To learn more, check out their website www.nativeplantsunlimited.com or contact them directly via email email@example.com. They also take pre-orders for easy pick-up in the spring!
Thank you for all of the wonderful landscape work you and your workers did at my house.
It was a horrible mess but it is beautiful now.
The staff here are absolutely wonderful!Even though it was super rainy and we are totally clueless about plants, all the staff we interacted with were really patient, helpful, and friendly. They really made our garden care accessible! We also really love that they hosted the Native Plants sale. What a great way to support more sustainable and ecosystem-friendly plants. Plus they were very educational on what worked well for what purposes and in what sort of spaces.Definitely will be going back!
Wow! I know there are always two sides to a story. But today I spoke with the owner, Fred, who returned my call about getting a tree replaced. I had sent him a note with a photo of the tree that was damaged and since removed. I said I wanted to discuss options to replace and asked about getting something the same size. He said that was an estimate of $150 dollars and hung up. In my email I mentioned I wanted to discuss other landscaping options too. The bottom line: I'm glad I did not use these folks based on the rude response. Maybe he had other issues going on. But still no way to treat a customer. I asked for a callback, but did not receive it. So, I left this review and have done so on other sites too.

I was sold two bobo hydrangeas last season and neither one of them bloomed after one season. When I reached out to the nursery, I was told they would not be able to do anything with them. Also they were just rude about the whole thing when I was just trying to understand how I could fix it.
Cutest nursery with amazing and beautiful selection of shrubs, bushes and flowers. Great selection of sizes. Knowledgable, caring staff! Tucked away little oasis. The gentleman who helped me was so nice and patient. So glad I came here. We've gotta support the mom and pop small business over the big box stores! I'm glad I came, I'm glad I found what I wanted.
Pretty good selection and very friendly staff. Took a while for someone to come find me to answer my questions, but I think that's just because they're a small operation with few employees. I recommend them!
If you're half a mile around this nursery its worth a visit, they said they can't install a tree that i was going to pay $600(350 for tree and rest for installation) in Westfield, all these still secondary to me, first thing he came to me with super angry attitude maybe because the color of my skin, second I called a day before and spoke with owners wife about the same so I don't waste my time, she was on board with everything except we didn't discuss where to install, very sad experience
